Gold award in Guldägget
We won the Gold award in ‘Guldägget’ (‘The Golden Egg Award’) in the category Packaging Design for our work for the brand Soil Biology (full case here).
Our work for Soil Biology contains of: the brand name, the visual identity and packaging design with strong differentiation characteristics. A playful and typeface-based identity through a custom-made typeface, from our foundry So-Type (where all ascenders and caps has sunken into the soil). The graphic expression is clean and straightforward in order to make the product easy to understand when consumers find it at unexpected retailers and places. It’s easy and fun to grow plants at home, you might even want to have it on display in your bookshelf. Great to have such a cool client with great purpose and grateful for an amazing team effort.
Factors behind the jury’s decision:
The gold award winner in package design contributes to the inspiration and co-creation for a sustainable environment. The packages themselves constitute the home for micro biology. The design encourages cultivation in small scale in urban environments, and caters for the growing trend in ‘urban gardening’. In a playful form and manner, with a limited number of colours, a simple horizontal layout and recyclable packages, this package design focuses on a sustainable cycle.
The Swedish Association of Communication Agencies (KOMM) organizes Guldägget. Guldägget was first arranged in 1961 and is today Sweden’s oldest, largest and most prestigious competition for the communication industry.
